A(non)anthropological movie from the cow shedI am developing a movie that can take the viewer into the cowsheds. Agricultural spaces are largely invisible but vital to the nutrition of much of the human population and cannot simply be ignored, we must reckon with them as part of a recalibration of human-nature relations. I am fascinated by the potential of film to produce a huge variety of experiences in the viewer.
We need lots of new perspectives to deal with the uncomfortable state of our relation to animals.

I’m curious about how to allow the body to surrender to what might be a compromised or alien environment. After all, that is the only way I can participate in and sometimes even record happenings that I’d otherwise not see.
As part of my auto-ethnographic method I have written about how attempts to utilise my camera in a non-invasive method generally fail. The camera follows my attention, my attention is produced by the cows, the cows attention is stimulated by my camera.
The camera is part of the encounter.
